The course duration is 78 weeks, including 18 weeks of holiday. Intakes are available in January, April, July, and October.
International students must demonstrate an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, or an equivalent qualification as recognised by Alliance College. Details of equivalent qualifications are published on the college's English Language Requirements page.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in the automotive retail, service and repair industries. Possible job titles include motor mechanic, service technician, service advisor, mobile mechanic, forklift mechanic, stationary engine technician, engine rebuilder, suspension specialist, and mobility vehicle technician.
Graduates can progress directly to the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
The course is delivered face-to-face (classroom and workshop), through work placement, and self-directed study on campus at the Adelaide campus. Assessment methods include testing, projects, and observations.
