The course spans 64 weeks, including scheduled term breaks. Students are required to attend 20 hours of classes/practical sessions per week, which include face-to-face instruction, simulated practical learning, and supervised assessment activities.
The total course fees are $15,000, which comprises a non-refundable Admission Fee of $250, Material Fees of $1,250, and Tuition Fees of $13,500. Unless otherwise specified, total course fees include all the training and assessment as well as required resources and textbooks for students to achieve the qualification. Note that Innovative Institute of Australia does not accept any advance fee above $1,500 at any given time.
Graduates can pursue careers as light vehicle mechanics/technicians in the automotive retail, service, and repair industry in roles such as automotive technician, service mechanic, repair technician, or workshop assistant. Employment is typically found in dealerships, fleet maintenance companies, independent garages, and automotive service chains. Career progression ranges from Entry-level Light Vehicle Service Technician, to Mid-level Diagnostic Technician or Specialist Mechanic, through to Advanced roles such as Workshop Supervisor, Service Manager, or Automotive Engineer (with further study).
Yes. Innovative Institute of Australia offers Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), a formal assessment process that evaluates your existing skills and experience gained through work, training, or life, to determine if you meet the requirements of specific course units. They also offer Credit Transfer, which grants recognition for equivalent units previously completed at other registered training organisations, without the need for reassessment. These processes are conducted in line with the Standards for RTOs 2025, specifically Standard 1.6 and 1.7. Students wishing to apply should notify the Institute at the time of enrolment.
Students obtaining a competency for all units in this course will be awarded the full qualification AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, including a certificate and Record of Results. Students not obtaining a competent result for all units in this course or leaving the course in the middle will receive a Statement of Attainment, indicating the actual number of units they achieved competency in.
