The course runs for 52 weeks in total, including 47 study weeks and 5 weeks of holidays.
The course is delivered through a combination of face-to-face classroom sessions and structured self-study. Students attend 20 hours per week in the classroom and complete an additional 4 hours of structured self-study each week. During the self-study component, students receive a comprehensive self-study guide with specific activities to be completed and submitted to their trainer and assessor for evaluation.
Applicants must have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, completing at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO, or successful completion of an English Placement Test. Other tests such as PTE and TOEFL are also accepted if equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
The Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is offered at three campuses: the Melbourne Campus at L10 601 Bourke Street Melbourne VIC 3000, the Abbotsford Campus at 395-397 Victoria St, Abbotsford, Victoria 3067, and the Broadmeadows Campus at 61 Riggall St, Broadmeadows, Victoria 3047.
Assessments are an integral part of this course and may encompass a variety of formats, including written questions, projects, presentations, reports, role plays/observations, and portfolios/journals. At the commencement of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the specific assessment tasks that you are required to complete.
