Common Questions
The course runs for 59 weeks, including 10 weeks of break/holidays. Classes are scheduled for 49 weeks, with the remaining 10 weeks allocated for breaks, extra tutorials, or reassessment periods as per the requirement of individual students. International students are required to have an IELTS band score of overall 6 (Academic or General) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) regulations. Students must also be competent in written and spoken English and will undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to commencing the training.
The course is delivered using a blended learning model consisting of 70% face-to-face and 30% guided online learning (only for international students). It is a full-time course requiring 20 hours per week, and learners may require an additional 5 hours of self-directed learning per week (indicative only).
Assessment methods for this qualification include written questions, projects, observations, presentations, case studies, reports, practical activities, and work placement (if applicable ONLY).
After successfully completing the CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, students can progress to a Certificate IV in Building and Construction (CPC40120), then a Diploma of Building and Construction – Building (CPC50220), and further to an Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction – Management (CPC60220).
