The Certificate III in Painting and Decorating is a full-time program delivered over 59 weeks, comprising 55 weeks of class delivery and 4 weeks of holidays, at 20 hours per week, totalling 1,209 hours of face-to-face and self-study hours.
The course is delivered at two campus locations: 18 Withers Street, Sunshine, VIC 3020 and 230 Main Street, Bacchus Marsh, VIC 3340.
Students must successfully complete CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry before commencing any unit of competency marked with an asterisk (*). Additionally, students must complete both CPCCWHS2001 and CPCCCM2012 Work safely at heights before commencing CPCCCM3001 Operate elevated work platforms up to 11 metres.
Yes. Credit Transfer (CT) is available for previously completed units of competency where the unit codes identically match. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also available; prior to commencement, a review of each student's previous education, training and work experience will be conducted to determine if existing competencies should be recognised. Students may directly apply for RPL or be identified during the pre-training review process.
Further training pathways from this qualification may lead to Certificate IV level qualifications including CPC40611 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Specialist Trades), CPC40408 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Sales), and CPC40708 Certificate IV in Building and Construction. The qualification is also intended to prepare new employees or recognise and develop existing workers performing the role of a painter and decorator.
