Common Questions
The course runs for 104 weeks and is delivered in a blended mode, combining face-to-face and online learning. Students engage in 15 hours of face-to-face learning and 5 hours of online learning per week, except during term breaks.
You must have demonstrated an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old), or have successfully completed at least General English at Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level. Alternatively, you can pass an Abbey College Australia entry test designed to assess your level of English proficiency.
Graduates of this qualification can pursue careers as a Painter and Decorator, Decorative Finishes or Wall Coverings Applicator, or a Protective Coatings / Specialist Coatings Applicator in residential and commercial construction environments.
There are no formal pre-requisites or specific entry requirements for this qualification. However, it is highly recommended that students have successfully completed 'CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry' prior to commencing the course, as this unit is a pre-requisite to most of the units contained within the qualification.
After achieving this qualification, candidates may choose to undertake studies at higher education level, allowing them to further advance their career and academic credentials.
