This course requires approximately 48 hours of work placement. States College can provide work placement to students for a one-time cost of $1,500 for the duration of the course. Students also have the option to arrange their own placement, in which case the placement fee will not be payable. The placement fee is not a pre-paid fee and will only be charged once the student has provided a written request to States College Australia.
There is a non-refundable enrolment fee of $250. Tuition fees are outlined in States College's latest Fee Schedule. If States College arranges work placement on your behalf, an additional one-time placement fee of $1,500 applies; however, this fee is waived if you arrange your own placement.
Students are assessed through a variety of methods to ensure fair and valid evaluation of skills and knowledge. Assessment tasks include written assignments, knowledge tests, scenario-based projects, case studies, class activities, practical demonstrations supported by role plays, presentations, and both individual and group work. These methods allow students to demonstrate how they apply their learning in real or simulated workplace situations.
After achieving the Certificate III in Patisserie, candidates may undertake the SIT40721 Certificate IV in Patisserie. States College notes that these pathways are not prerequisites but rather reference points that can be utilised when determining suitability for enrolment for prospective learners.
The Certificate III in Patisserie consists of 21 units in total: 15 core units and 6 elective units. Core units cover areas such as food preparation, kitchen operations, producing cakes, pastries, desserts, food safety, and safe work practices. Elective units include topics such as preparing food for special dietary requirements, marzipan preparation, recipe costing, and bread production.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
