Common Questions
The course has a duration of 52 weeks and is delivered face to face through a combination of classroom sessions and practical workshop sessions.
Students must have English proficiency as guided by Macallan College's English Proficiency Policy and Procedures. This requires an IELTS Test overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no individual section score less than 5.5, or a Pre-entry Oxford English online test result of no less than B2.2 with a minimum score of 71. Note that all applicants from AL3 countries must sit an IELTS test.
A Certificate is issued where all 23 units have been deemed competent. A Statement of Attainment is issued when only some units are deemed competent and the course is not completed in full. Issuing of your Certificate and/or Statement of Attainment occurs within 30 days of your last unit being deemed competent, however this may be delayed if you have not provided your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or have any outstanding fees.
After completing this course, you could enrol into: CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing, CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building & Construction, CPC50220 Diploma of Building & Construction (Building), or CPC60220 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management). For other relevant qualifications or further study options in the construction sector, you can refer to www.training.gov.au.
The qualification consists of 23 units of competency, made up of 20 core units and 3 elective units. Both knowledge and skill assessments are required to be completed with a competent outcome for each unit in order to achieve the certificate.
