The State Government's Free TAFE for Priority Courses initiative covers the cost of tuition (excluding Amenities Fees and Materials Fees) for eligible students. Free TAFE is available to eligible students for one course enrolment in a lifetime, and Free TAFE places are limited. If you are not eligible for Free TAFE, the following fee options apply: Government subsidised tuition fee is $4,200 (plus $260 amenities, total $4,460); Concession tuition fee is $840 (plus $180 amenities, total $1,020); Non-subsidised tuition fee is $10,000 (plus $260 amenities, total $10,260). Yes, the course includes a 100-hour workplace placement requirement. Students will also participate in a number of excursions to primary schools and have the opportunity to listen to guest speakers from industry. Assessment for each competency is through a combination of on-the-job (practicum) and off-the-job tasks.
Successful completion of the Certificate III in School Based Education Support CHC30221 will enable you to apply to enrol in a Certificate IV in Education Support, Diploma of Education Support, or a Bachelor of Education.
Yes, a 12-month traineeship option is available. Traineeships are also available for those already working in this sector. Under the traineeship pathway, assessment involves a combination of on-the-job (practicum) and off-the-job tasks, including class exercises, assignments and practical demonstrations.
