The course runs for 85 weeks (70 study weeks + 15 break weeks). The tuition fee for international students is AUD$30,600, with a 2026 new course discounted price of AUD$25,500 (excludes non-tuition fees). Additional fees for accommodation, meals and transport are approximately AUD$15,000 per year.
The course is mainly taught in Mandarin, and applicants must be fluent in Mandarin (both written and spoken). Although the course is primarily in Mandarin, it is recommended that entrants have basic English communication and writing skills.
Applicants must be keen in Confucian, Taoist and Buddhist Studies philosophies, be fluent in Mandarin (both written and spoken), and attend an online workshop and pass the academic and virtue assessments given by the Department of Sinology Studies. Basic English communication and writing skills are also recommended.
Graduates can pathway into the 10958NAT Certificate IV in Sinology Studies, which is itself an entry-level qualification intended as a pathway to further studies. Study pathways include developing understanding in Confucian philosophies from the Four Books (Analects, Doctrine of the Mean, Mencius and Great Learning), traditional music and meditation skills, and further Buddhist studies.
The VET National Code for the Certificate III in Sinology Studies is 11409NAT, and the CRICOS Course Code is 120079A. The course is offered by Dynamic Management Group Pty Ltd trading as Royal Brisbane Institute of Technology (RTO 30807, CRICOS 02370B).
