Common Questions
The course has a duration of 52 weeks and is delivered face to face at Macallan College's Adelaide and Brisbane campuses.
Students must demonstrate English proficiency as guided by Macallan College's English Proficiency Policy and Procedures. This requires an IELTS overall score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no individual section score less than 5.5, or a pre-entry Oxford English online test result of no less than B2.2 with a minimum score of 71. All applicants from AL3 countries must sit an IELTS test.
A Certificate is issued where all 20 units have been deemed competent. A Statement of Attainment is issued when only some units are deemed competent and the course is not completed in full. Issuing of your Certificate and/or Statement of Attainment occurs within 30 days of your last unit being deemed competent, however, this may be delayed if you have not provided your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or have any outstanding fees.
After completing this course, you could enrol into the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction, the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), or the CPC60220 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management). For other relevant qualifications or further study options in the construction sector, refer to www.training.gov.au.
The qualification requires 20 units of competency, comprising 15 core units and 5 elective units. Both knowledge and skill assessments must be completed with a competent outcome for each unit to achieve the certificate.
