Common Questions
Yes. To undertake construction work in Australia, it is mandatory to complete the General Construction Induction Training. This requirement is met upon completion of the unit CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry, which is included as part of this qualification.
Assessments for this course may include written questions, projects, presentations, reports, role plays/observations, and portfolios/journals. At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the specific assessment tasks that must be completed.
Students are expected to complete 20 hours a week in the classroom and 4 hours of structured self-study. In addition, approximately 5 hours of additional, unsupervised study per week is required, including general reading and research for assessments.
Yes. You can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course, and you will be advised in writing of any changes.
Graduates may work as a Solid Plasterer, Renderer/Textured Coating Applicator, Heritage Plaster Restoration Worker, or Residential and Commercial Plaster Specialist. Those who wish to continue their education may pursue higher-level qualifications within the building and construction sector, including specialised trades or supervisory pathways.
