Certificate III in Solid Plastering

The CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering is delivered by Bentley College through blended learning over 52 weeks (44 study weeks plus 8 weeks of break). The course comprises 20 units of competency — 15 core and 5 elective — covering trade skills such as levelling procedures, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, workplace communication, measurements and calculations, reading and interpreting plans and specifications, and handling solid plastering materials, tools and equipment, through to preparing surfaces for plastering, applying float and render to straight and curved surfaces, applying set coats and trowelled texture coat finishes, and restoring and renovating solid plasterwork, alongside workplace health and safety requirements. Electives cover working safely at heights, basic concreting, investigating business opportunities, explosive power tools, and trestle and plank systems. The course suits learners entering the solid plastering trade and requires proficiency with advanced calculators. Entry requires English proficiency at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, results no more than 2 years old (or equivalent completed English studies), suitable LLN skills, completion of Australian Year 10 or equivalent (or mature age), and a minimum age of 18. On completion, graduates are prepared for roles in construction related to solid plastering, such as solid plasterer and/or renderer, and can progress into the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building), CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), or other Certificate IV and Diploma-level CPC qualifications.
