Certificate III in Solid Plastering

WMIT's Certificate III in Solid Plastering (CPC31020) is a nationally recognised trade qualification that prepares students for a professional career in solid plastering across Melbourne's residential and commercial construction sector. The course covers core construction industry skills alongside specialist plastering techniques, including applying plaster, cement and other mixtures to create smooth or decorative finishes on interior walls and exterior rendered surfaces. It is delivered as classroom-based, face-to-face training at WMIT's Melbourne CBD campus over 52 weeks and is CRICOS-registered under code 119742G, open to international students on a Student Visa.

Across 20 units of competency (15 core and 5 electives), students gain hands-on competencies covering the application of plastering materials and finishes to straight and curved surfaces, surface preparation, restoration and renovation of existing plasterwork, and safe use of plastering tools and equipment. The mandatory general construction induction unit is included, satisfying the requirement for anyone carrying out construction work in Australia. State and territory jurisdictions may set additional licensing requirements for plastering work.

Graduates are prepared for roles including Solid Plasterer and Renderer. On completion, students may progress to WMIT's Certificate IV in Building and Construction or an equivalent qualification.
