Certificate III in Solid Plastering

The CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering is a trade qualification for residential and commercial solid plastering work. Solid plasterers apply plaster, cement and other mixtures to interior walls to create smooth or decorative finishes, and render exterior walls for weatherproofing and appearance. Alongside core construction industry units in workplace safety, planning, measurement and communication, students specialise in handling solid plastering materials, preparing surfaces, using plastering tools and equipment, applying set coats, applying float and render to straight and curved surfaces, applying trowelled texture coat finishes, and restoring and renovating existing plasterwork, plus units on operating elevated work platforms, erecting scaffolding and working safely at height. The course is delivered at The Centre of Excellence's Melbourne and North Geelong campuses over 54 study weeks including holidays, with new intakes accepted every month. On graduating, students are equipped to work as qualified solid plasterers on residential and commercial construction projects, applying decorative and protective finishes to interior and exterior walls, with the trade skills needed to progress into broader construction industry roles or independent plastering contracting work.
