About This Course

This qualification provides a trade outcome in solid plastering for residential and commercial work. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, solid plastering. Solid plasterers apply plaster, cement and other mixtures to walls to create smooth or decorative finishes to interior walls and to render to exterior walls. Occupational titles may include: Solid Plasterer, Renderer. State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements. This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway. Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Requirements

Student must have completed Australian Year 11 or equivalent level of schooling or a Certificate III or higher qualification with an Australian institution.
Student must have English Proficiency or demonstrate as per Oban College's English Proficiency Policy and Procedure such as: IELTS 6.0, PTE 50, General English Advanced or equivalent, Duolingo 95, or Oban College internal English test.
Student must be 18 years of age or older at the time of course commencement.
Student may be required to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) and digital literacy assessment.
Student must have the ability to carry out workshop training involving physical activity, including lifting.
Student must bring their own laptops or tablets.

The CPC31020 Certificate III in Solid Plastering is delivered face to face at two campuses: the Sydney Campus at Level 2, 11 Parkes St, Harris Park NSW 2150, and the Perth Campus at Suite 1, 16-18 Aberdeen St, Perth WA 6000.

The course has a total duration of 52 weeks, comprising 40 teaching weeks and 12 weeks of holidays.
