Common Questions
The course runs for 104 weeks in total. It is structured as Four (4) Semesters of 26 weeks each, consisting of Eight (8) Terms of Study of 10 weeks each, plus a Three (3) week break at the end of each Term, totalling 24 weeks of breaks.
Yes, the Work Experience or Vocational Placement component of the qualification is delivered in terms 6, 7 and 8 over a 30 weeks period for up to 24 hours per week to meet a 720 hours work experience requirement.
International students must exhibit a strong command of the English language and achieve a minimum score in one of the accepted tests, including: IELTS minimum 5.0, TOEFL iBT 37–50, PTE 40 or higher, CAE 154 or higher, OET minimum D Grade, Duolingo 80–90, CEFR/Oxford minimum B1, CELPIP General 5, LANGUAGECERT Academic 50, or Michigan English Test 44. Students without current proof may take an English Placement Test administered by Skills Australia Institute.
The Assessment Process is based on the principles of competency-based training, where the performance of learners is assessed on their ability to perform the task(s) to industry standards. Assessment for each unit of competency will be through a combination of classroom based and work placement tasks. Classroom based assessments include but are not limited to: Classroom Exercises, Assignments, Practical Demonstrations, Group Activities, Projects, and Verbal and/or Written Questions.
Successful completion of the CPC31320 – Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling will lay a foundation for successful students to progress into potential employment opportunities in tiling job roles. Students who complete this course may also wish to continue their education into a range of building and construction qualifications. Note: Study pathways may include qualifications or courses that may not be offered at Skills Australia Institute.
