Students enrolled in this course are required to have the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety boots (steel cap), safety glasses (non-tinted), long pants, long-sleeved shirt (for WHS reasons please do not wear excessively loose clothing), high visibility vest (high visibility shirt/jumper is acceptable), and sun protection as required.
During the 40 training and assessment weeks, students must commit to 30 hours of study per week, which includes 20 hours of face-to-face training and assessment per week on campus (typically across three days) and 10 hours of compulsory e-Learning and assessment per week online.
Yes, a pathway to the CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) will be available for students who have completed the CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall & Floor Tiling.
Yes, students are required to successfully achieve competency in the pre-requisite unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card) during Orientation week or at the latest by the Census Date of commencement of the course or prior to commencement of Term 2 in 2025. Students who already hold this competency from prior studies may proceed directly into the course.
Applicants must have a valid IELTS score of 5.0 Bands, OR a PTE score of 36, OR a Cambridge score of 154, OR a TOEFL iBT score of 36, OR equivalent (such as completing a minimum 10-week General English Course of Intermediate Level) within the last 3 calendar years. Alternatively, completion of an Australian Qualification at minimum AQF Level 3 (Certificate III) to Advanced Diploma AQF Level 6, or successful completion of an Australian Equivalent Year 11 qualification within the last 3 calendar years, will also satisfy this requirement.
