The course covers computerised accounting systems including Xero and MYOB, as well as spreadsheet software, giving you practical skills used across the accounting and bookkeeping industries.
For 2026, eligible students may study for free under the Victorian Government's Free TAFE initiative (available to Australian citizens, permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens). Otherwise, the full fee is $9,470 AUD, the Skills First government-subsidised place is $4,810 AUD, and the concession rate is $888 AUD. Fees are estimates only and subject to change.
Yes, students are eligible for a free student membership with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) as Swinburne is recognised as an Accredited Training Provider. Student membership with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is also available upon application.
To obtain the qualification, students must complete 13 units comprising 10 core units and 3 elective units. The program is 18 weeks long, delivered over two terms of 9 weeks each, with classes scheduled 4 days per week (including 1–2 units online). Total indicative nominal hours are 620.
