Common Questions
The Certificate IV in Ageing Support has a 9 month duration. If you hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, your length of study may be shorter. Part-time study is also available for Domestic students.
Students undertaking the Certificate IV in Ageing Support have a minimum of 120 hours of work placement over the duration of the course. Bedford supports students to source a course-related work placement, and many students go on to secure employment offers upon graduation.
Before attending work placement, students must have a current Police Check, NDIS Worker Check, Student Photo ID, Covid Certificate, Proof of Flu vaccination, and Proof of Immunisations. Additionally, students over the age of 18 years who engage in child-related work must by law hold a valid and current Working with Children Check.
Domestic students must have successfully completed Year 10 (or equivalent). No ATAR is required. Applicants also undertake a Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment for the College to determine the level of assistance needed to support the student.
Bedford offers students flexibility when it comes to enrolment, allowing commencement of study across four study periods in a year: February, April, July, and October.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
