Certificate IV in Ageing Support

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. Placement may be commenced during the delivery of the course; however, practical assessment for each unit requiring placement will be conducted once the learning has been completed and theory assessments are deemed Satisfactory.

Yes. If the student is not already working in a position relating to this area of study, Qii may be able to assist in finding the placement. The Institute will first try to place the student with one of the signed placement partners if a suitable position is available, or alternatively they can provide additional guides and information packs to assist the student in securing their own placement. A Trainer from the institute will visit and assess all potential placement hosts and conduct a quality assurance assessment and complete a facilities checklist before signing an agreement.

The total course fees are: Tuition fee AUD $18,650, Enrolment fee AUD $250, and Material fees AUD $750.

All learners with English as a second language (ESL) must demonstrate one of the following: IELTS 5.5 or other English scores accepted by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) such as TOEFL 'PBT' 527, TOEFL 'iBT' 46, PTE Academic 42, Cambridge English Advance 47, or OET 'Pass'; sit Qii's Internal English Test and achieve the required scores; or hold a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) Level 3 Applied. Alternatively, learners can sit Qii's Internal Language, Literacy and Numeracy test and achieve 4 in Writing, Oral Communication, Reading and Learning, and 3 in Numeracy.

The skills and knowledge gained in this qualification may lead to further studies or employment in ageing support. On completion of this qualification, learners may seek further studies at any AQF5 or Diploma levels.
