Common Questions
The course has a total duration of 52 weeks, which includes 40 weeks of study across 4 terms and 12 weeks of scheduled breaks. It is delivered full-time at 20 hours per week.
Students are required to complete 160 hours of work placement. To participate in placement, students must provide a full vaccination record as per NSW Health guidelines for hospital or aged care facilities, a Police Check, and any additional evidence that work placement providers may require.
Yes. Applicants must have completed the CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support, or at minimum the following units: HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems, CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people, HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures, CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people, HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care, CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs, and CHCCCS023 Support independence and wellbeing.
Applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
After completing the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, students can progress to the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services.
