It is a requirement of this qualification that the student must complete at least 120 hours of work placement in an approved aged care setting and complete the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency. The work placement is scheduled at the end of the course and Rhodes College will organise work placement for all students.
Yes, in addition to the tuition fee of $12,000 and the Resource Material Fee of $499, students are required to organise and pay for their own police check, first aid certificate, and similar requirements before commencing work based training. Certain aged care or community service providers may also charge a fee for work placements, which typically ranges from $150 to $300, to be paid by the student before commencing the placement.
After achieving this qualification, individuals could progress to CHC52015 – Diploma of Community Services or HLT54115 – Diploma of Nursing.
The College will use the following assessment methods during this course which includes and may not be limited to Questions, Assignments, Projects, Case Studies, Activities, Third Party Reports/Logbooks, Portfolio, Simulations, Work Placement, Role Plays, Observations, Tests and Written Assessments.
Intake dates are in February, March, May, June, July, August, October, November and December. The course is delivered at 118 and 123 Queen Street, Melbourne, and runs for a duration of 62 weeks.
