The qualification CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support requires that students undertake 120 hours of Vocational placement/Fieldwork placement in a real workplace. Additionally, to achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 240 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
The total tuition fee for the Certificate IV in Ageing Support is AUD 12,000, charged at AUD 3,000 per term across 4 terms. There is also a course materials fee of $800, a course application fee of AU$250, and optional fees such as an accommodation placement fee of AU$200 and airport pick-up fee of AU$200.
After completing this course, students may wish to further their studies with any one or more of the following qualifications at Pacific College: CHC43121 – Certificate IV in Disability Support, CHC43415 – Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, CHC52021 – Diploma of Community Services, or other relevant undergraduate programs in other colleges and universities throughout Australia.
The course is delivered in a blended mode combining classroom, practical and online delivery. International students are required to attend a minimum of 20 hours per week of scheduled contact hours, comprising 16 hours of classroom-based face-to-face delivery per week and 4 hours of compulsory e-learning via the MyPCT portal per week. Classes are held on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:15 am to 5:45 pm (including a 30-minute lunch break).
Yes. A complete, clean, laundered and ironed uniform and correct footwear must be worn at all times during practical classes. The uniform includes black or navy trousers, black or navy non-slip filled-in shoes (no heels), and an appropriate white or pastel-coloured short-sleeved shirt with a collar. Safety requirements include hair tied back, optimum personal hygiene, no jewellery on hands (except plain wedding bands), no chains, only stud earrings, trimmed fingernails with no nail polish, light make-up only, and no body or face piercings. A name tag must be worn at all times whilst on placement.
