The course fees are AUD$14,000, with an additional Enrolment Fee of AUD$500 and Material Fees of AUD$700, bringing the total cost to AUD$15,200.
Yes, students must complete 120 hours of work placement to complete the course. Prior to commencing placement, students are required to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate (Federal Police Check or NSW Police check no less than 3 years old), a Working with Children check, and relevant immunisation checks.
Applicants must demonstrate an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in each band, or an equivalent test result, or completion of General English / EAP at the Upper Intermediate level from an approved ELICOS provider. Any AQF qualification at the Certificate IV or above delivered and assessed in English only will also be deemed as meeting the English language entry requirements.
The course is delivered full time in a mixed mode, integrating 15 hours per week of face-to-face classes, 5 hours per week of online classes, plus additional self-study for revision, assessment research and assessment preparation and completion.
Students are required to complete a total of 18 units, comprising 15 core units and 3 elective units, covering areas such as aged care, dementia support, palliative care, legal and ethical compliance, and workplace leadership.
