Common Questions
Upon successful completion, you will receive two qualifications: AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and AUR40116 Certificate IV in Automotive Management. This dual award is delivered one after the other — first you complete the Certificate III (1 year 6 months), then the Certificate IV (6 months), for a total duration of 2 years.
The total course fee for international students is $31,200. This is broken down as $24,300 for the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and $6,900 for the Certificate IV in Automotive Management. Payment options include upfront payment, a payment plan, or international student payment via Convera Global Pay for Students or the Flywire Payment Portal using telegraphic transfer or credit card.
International students are required to undertake 520 hours of vocational placement in an approved setting (400 hours for the Certificate III and 120 hours for the Certificate IV). TAFE Queensland will assist with arranging suitable placements if you are not already working in the industry and will provide all the information you need at the beginning of your studies. Completing vocational placement is compulsory, and you are responsible for making your own transport arrangements.
You are responsible for purchasing the resources for minimum occupational health and safety requirements in practical classes. This includes: clear safety glasses to AS 1336 or 1337, protective footwear with safety toe cap and non-slip soles to AS2210, mechanic gloves, ear plugs or muffs, hair protection (long hair must be restrained), and 100% cotton drill industry-standard protective clothing. If you fail to meet these minimum standards of dress, you will not be permitted entry into practical classes.
No. This is a two-year dual qualification and there is no exit point after the Certificate III. If you leave before completing the full dual course, you may not be eligible for either individual qualification. The course is delivered sequentially — first the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, then the Certificate IV in Automotive Management.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
