Common Questions
To enrol, you must have completed AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. You also need successful completion of year 11 or equivalent, completion of a Determining Suitability Assessment, be 18 years of age or above, and meet a minimum English level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (for international students) or pass a Lennox College Placement Test.
The tuition fees for the course are $10,000.00. This includes a $200 Application Fee, $1,000 in Material Fees, and $14,800 in Tuition Fees (note: the total package including all fees is reflected in the overall cost structure outlined in the course listing).
The course is delivered through classroom-based training sessions to develop knowledge and theoretical understanding, as well as practical sessions in the automotive workshop. Assessment involves the gathering of evidence to demonstrate the student's competence, using written assessment and direct observation of practical demonstration.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a 'Testamur' and a 'Record of Results' which provides detailed Units of Competency completed in the course. Students who partially complete the course will receive a 'Statement of Attainment' detailing only the Units of Competency in which they achieved competency.
After achieving the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, candidates may choose to undertake AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or other relevant qualifications. Possible job roles include Automotive Heavy Vehicle Master Technician, Automotive Master Technician, Automotive Mechanical Overhaul Technician, and Performance Vehicle Technician.
