The total course cost is $7,580, comprising a Tuition Fee of $7,000 and a Non-Tuition Fee of $580. Course fees do not include uniform, PPE, safety shoes, laptops, or software. Students are also required to take out Overseas Health Insurance Cover (OSHC) before arriving in Australia.
You are required to bring the following PPE items to automotive practical classes at your own cost: an Automotive Uniform Overall (Navy colour preferable, approximately $100–$130), Steel Cap Safety Shoes ($100–$150), Leather Gloves ($5–$15), Disposable Gloves ($30–$40), Safety Glasses ($5–$15), Ear Muffs ($5–$15), and Safety Masks ($5–$15). You are also required to bring your own laptop with Office 365 (or similar program) to all theory classes.
You will need to complete assessments for this course which may include written questions, multiple choice questions, reports, job cards, and practical demonstrations. At the beginning of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed. Students who only complete some units will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment for units successfully completed, while a Testamur and Record of Results will be issued to students who complete all course requirements.
Yes, you can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course. You will be advised in writing of changes to fees or course duration because of the credit, and you will also be issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
Satisfactory course progress and attendance is very important to meet visa requirements. Students are required to maintain an 80% attendance rate. You are required to attend classes for 20 hours per week for 30 study weeks (2 terms of 15 weeks each), plus approximately 2 hours of unsupervised self-study per week. Further information is available in the Student Handbook, and you will also be provided with information about course progress and attendance requirements at your orientation.
