A total of 10 units are required for the award of the AUR40216 – Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, comprising 1 core unit and 9 elective units. Up to 9 units may be chosen from the Elective Units listed in the AUR40216 qualification, and up to 2 units may be chosen from a Certificate III qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
Units are assessed individually via a range of assessment methods including Written Assessment, Verbal Questioning and Practical Demonstrations observed directly by the assessor. Students can also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfers (CT). If a student wishes to appeal an assessment decision, they can do so by following the Complaints and Appeals Policy outlined in the Student Handbook.
You will be provided with your own apprentice toolkit which you will be required to bring to all practical classes. You will also be provided with a uniform which must be worn for all workshop days. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
