Common Questions
To enrol, students must be a minimum of 18 years of age, have successfully completed Year 11 (High School Certificate or equivalent) or a Certificate III or equivalent, or be of mature age, AND have completed AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
The course duration is 26 weeks, comprising one semester of 26 weeks, which consists of 2 terms of study of 10 weeks each, plus a three-week break at the end of each term (totalling 6 weeks of breaks).
After successfully completing the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, students will be able to work in the following job roles: Automotive Heavy Vehicle Master Technician, Automotive Master Technician, Automotive Mechanical Overhaul Technician, and Performance Vehicle Technician.
The assessment process is based on the principles of competency-based training. Assessment for each unit of competency will be through a combination of classroom based and work placement tasks. Classroom based assessments include Classroom Exercises, Assignments, Practical Demonstrations, Group Activities, Projects, and Verbal and/or Written Questions. Students may be assessed by a combination of continuous assessments and examinations.
Successful completion of the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis means candidates may choose to undertake AUR50116 Diploma of Automotive Management or other relevant qualifications.
