The course has a total duration of 30 weeks (including breaks), with a volume of learning of 605 hours and 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
Applicants must be 18 years or older, have successfully completed an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification (such as AUR30620) or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency, and must complete a Pre-Training Review (PTR) and LLND test prior to enrolment. International students must also meet English language requirements, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
Assessment methods include written tests/knowledge questions and practical demonstration in an automotive workshop.
After achieving AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, individuals can progress to AUR50216 - Diploma of Automotive Technology from any institute, TAFE, or university. Note that Hawk Institute does not offer the AUR50216 qualification itself.
