The total course fees are $11,700, which includes Tuition Fees of $10,250, a Material Fee of $1,200, and an Application Fee of $250. Monthly installments are available.
Melbourne Trades College will arrange and supply students with a workshop kit consisting of safety boots (steel cap), workshop uniform (workshop overalls) and other PPE's including protective glasses, mechanic gloves, basic tool kit, LED inspection light, and a mini First Aid Kit. Additionally, this will include any handouts and printed materials.
The total volume of learning is 720 hours, comprising 160 hours of face-to-face training in classroom, 120 hours of practical training in an automotive workshop, 80 hours of theory assessment, 240 hours of practical assessment, and 120 hours of structured independent learning. Students are required to attend a minimum of 20 hours per week of study.
International students must meet a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or PTE score of 52 or its equivalent. For equivalency of various English language proficiency testing and other forms of equivalency, students should refer to the Enrolment policy and procedure available on the MTC website or MTC student handbook online.
After achieving the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, individuals can progress to the AUR50116 Diploma of Automotive Management. Possible job titles include Automotive Heavy Vehicle Master Technician, Automotive Master Technician, Automotive Mechanical Overhaul Technician, and Performance Vehicle Technician. Note that Melbourne Trades College does not guarantee any employment outcomes with its programs.
