Common Questions
Entry into this qualification is limited to students that have previously completed AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent. In addition, students must be at least 18 years of age, meet Year 12 or equivalent education requirements, and have an IELTS academic score of 6.0 or equivalent.
The qualification is delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment and 16 weeks of holidays.
Classes are held at Trinity Institute (Australia) campuses at 35 Smith Street, Parramatta NSW 2150 and Level 5, 770 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Practical automotive workshop sessions are conducted at 62 Tattersall Road, Kings Park NSW.
Trinity Institute (Australia) provides training rooms, fully functioning automotive workshops with light vehicles, tools and manufacturer specifications required for all units, and personal protective and safety equipment such as eye protection, hearing protection and gloves. Students are required to bring a laptop installed with Microsoft Office or similar, text books, safety work boots, overalls, and other personal protective equipment and tools as listed on the resources list prior to enrolment.
Students who complete this course may be able to seek employment in roles such as Auto Mechanic, Automotive Light Vehicle Master Technician, Automotive Repair Technician, and Automotive Mechanical Technician. Licensing requirements may apply. Graduates may also choose to undertake relevant higher level automotive qualifications as an education pathway.
