Common Questions
To enrol in the Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, you must have completed an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification (specifically AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology) or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. You must also have successfully completed Year 11 or equivalent, be 18 years of age or above, complete a Determining Suitability Assessment, and meet an English proficiency level of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (for international students) or pass a Lennox College Placement Test.
The course is delivered through classroom based training sessions to develop knowledge and theoretical understandings, as well as practical sessions in the automotive workshop. Assessment involves gathering evidence to demonstrate the student's competence, using written assessment and direct observation of practical demonstration.
The tuition fees for the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis are $10,000.00, which includes Material and Application Fees ($200 Application Fee and $1,000 Material Fees).
At the successful completion of the course, students will be awarded with a 'Testamur' and a 'Record of Results' which provides detailed Units of Competency completed in the course. At partial completion, students will be awarded a 'Statement of Attainment' which details only the Units of Competency that the student has achieved competency in.
After achieving the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, candidates may choose to undertake AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology or other relevant qualifications.
