The Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) has a duration of 1 year for international students.
To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 19 units of competency: 11 core units and 8 elective units. Core units include topics such as applying building codes and standards, managing work health and safety, planning building or construction work, applying structural principles, and reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
This qualification could help you prepare for roles such as Builder, Construction supervisor, Site manager, Site supervisor, and Estimator.
After completing this course, you can continue your studies with the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) at TAFE NSW. You may also be eligible for TAFE NSW degree pathways, TAFE NSW–university partnership pathways offering guaranteed entry and credit transfer to eligible students, or other university pathways using your TAFE NSW qualifications.
