The qualification is delivered over 78 weeks in total, which includes 54 weeks of training and assessment spread over 6 terms of 9 weeks each, plus 24 weeks of holidays.
The total course fee is $24,000.00, plus a non-refundable enrolment fee of $300 to be paid on application. Non-tuition fees may also apply. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which are to be purchased at the student's own cost. International students are also required to take out Overseas Health Insurance Cover (OSHC) before arriving in Australia.
Graduates may pursue employment in building roles including residential and commercial construction. Residential construction is limited to National Construction Code Class 1 and 10 buildings to a maximum of 3 stories, and commercial construction is limited to Class 2 to 9 buildings, Type C and B construction. Occupational titles may include Builder, Construction Supervisor, Site Manager, Site Supervisor, and Leading Hand.
Yes. Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the CPC50320 Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) or a range of Diploma qualifications, as well as higher education qualifications in building and construction.
Yes. Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning). For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing. If course credit is granted following issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced duration.
