The course runs for 49 weeks in total, which includes 40 study weeks and 9 weeks of holidays.
You must have an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5, or an equivalent test result taken within the last 2 years. You must also satisfactorily complete a Language Literacy Numeracy assessment or enrolment interview prior to acceptance.
The course is delivered face-to-face only, with 20 hours per week consisting of classroom sessions, practical training, and supervised formative activities. Training takes place in a simulated building environment at the AICC construction warehouse in Auburn.
Yes, the prerequisite unit CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card) should be presented by the student at the time of enrolment, or at the maximum by Week 3 of Term 1.
Graduates of the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction may pursue careers as a Builder, Construction Supervisor, Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Leading Hand. Additional units of competency may be required to meet builder or project manager registration requirements in various States and Territories.
