The qualification is delivered as full-time study over 40 weeks, with classes scheduled for 26 weeks and 14 weeks of break/extra tutorials/reassessment period as per the requirement of individual students. Study load is 20 hours per week (70% face-to-face and 30% online), plus an indicative 5 hours of self-directed learning per week.
International students must achieve an IELTS band score of overall 6.0 (Academic or General) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and DOHA regulations. Online IELTS will not be accepted. Additionally, learners are required to be competent in written and spoken English and will undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test prior to commencing training.
Graduates of the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) may pursue occupational titles including Builder, Construction Supervisor, Site Manager, Site Supervisor, and Leading Hand. The qualification prepares graduates to work in roles managing small to medium-sized building businesses, applying knowledge of structural principles, codes, standards, and legal requirements to Class 1 and 10 and Class 2 to 9 Type C constructions.
To achieve the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) qualification, a learner must complete and demonstrate competency in 19 units of competency, including 11 core units and 8 elective units. Note that an asterisk (*) against a unit code indicates a prerequisite requirement that must be met before assessment of that unit.
Yes. Upon enrolment of all learning programs, Mars Institute's code of practice states that all candidates for assessment will be offered RPL. RPL is an assessment process that assesses an individual's non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning outcomes, competency outcomes, or standards for entry to, and/or partial or total completion of, a qualification.
