The course is delivered over 40 tuition weeks plus term breaks, with classes rostered for 3 days per week plus a self-study component. Overseas students are required to undertake a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
No work placement hours are required for the BSB40120 Certificate IV in Business at Cairns College of English and Business.
Applicants need one of the following: IELTS 5.0, completion of Upper-Intermediate level at CCEB, B2 Level of CEFR (Common European Framework), or completion in the 2 years prior to applying of either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of an AQF Certificate IV or higher qualification studied in Australia in English while holding a student visa.
A range of assessments are employed for this training program and the type of assessment is dependent on the nature of the unit of competency. Assessments include demonstrations, observations, projects, presentations, knowledge tests, reports and interviews.
On completion of the Certificate IV in Business, students may pursue the Diploma of Leadership and Management at CCEB or other CRICOS registered training organisations.
