This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. Twelve units must be completed, covering critical thinking applied to work practices, digital collaboration technologies, building and maintaining business relationships, implementing and monitoring WHS policies, writing complex documents and applying workplace communication strategies, alongside developing personal work priorities, leading personal development, organising business meetings, promoting innovation in a team environment, making presentations and designing complex spreadsheets. At 26 weeks it is the shortest of York Business Institute's business qualifications, delivered at the Sydney campus as blended learning combining face-to-face classes with online study at 20 hours per week. Graduates are prepared for roles such as personal assistant, office administrator, sales assistant, sustainability officer and sustainability manager. Pathways from the qualification include a range of Diploma level qualifications within the BSB Training Package, or other Training Packages.
