About This Course

This qualification is will give students self-development skills to enable them to perform a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks. They will use their well-developed skills and knowledge to apply solutions to a range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. In this course, students will develop business administration and leadership skills including: Critical thinking work practices, Writing complex documents, Workplace communication strategies, Personal development, Digital technologies, Social media.

General Requirements

Domestic Students (Full-Time): English and language, literacy and numeracy skills.
International Students: English Language Proficiency – must demonstrate minimum language skills.
International Students: Other criteria is determined by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (i.e. satisfying Visa requirements).
RPL Students: Demonstrate previous and/or current work history.
Skillset and Micro Courses: English and Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills.
There are no formal entry requirements.

How much does the Certificate IV in Business cost?

The course fee is $1,200.00 for domestic students (full-time) and $10,000.00 for international students, which includes training and assessment resources but excludes OSHC, visa fees, and accommodation. RPL students and Skillset/Micro Course students should contact the institution for a quote. A payment plan is also available, allowing you to pay per semester or in monthly installments if you have difficulty paying the full fee upfront.

What are the attendance requirements for this course?

Both domestic and international students attending full-time on campus are required to maintain a compulsory 75% attendance. Classes are held face-to-face Monday to Friday, with all classes scheduled for 20 hours per week. InTech operates on a 10-week term with 4 terms per year. RPL students only need to attend classes if skills gaps are identified.

Can I get Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this qualification?

Yes, InTech offers RPL for the Certificate IV in Business. RPL is a process of having your knowledge, work experience and skills formally assessed for the purpose of gaining a nationally recognised and accredited qualification. To successfully achieve an RPL, you must demonstrate your skills towards each unit of competency and show work currency. Evidence required includes a portfolio of evidence, prior qualifications, employment history, visual evidence, work samples, references, and possibly practical or written/verbal testing. InTech will provide initial feedback on the RPL at no cost to determine your success rate and any skills gaps.

What can I study after completing the Certificate IV in Business?

Upon completing the Certificate IV in Business, students can progress onto the next level of qualification within the college. Intech Institute offers the Diploma of Business and the Diploma of Leadership and Management, as well as other relevant qualifications. Credits may also include units of competency contained within relevant skill sets and statements of attainment.

Is this qualification nationally recognised?

Yes, upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the Certificate IV in Business (BSB40120). This qualification is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). You can verify this at www.training.gov.au.
