About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have supervisory performance accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out a mix of specialist and moderately complex administrative or operational tasks that require self-development skills. They use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others. No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Minimum Age Requirement:

18 years or older at commencement of course

Minimum English Language Requirement (one of the following):

Certificate III in EAL / IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent
Satisfactorily completed ELICOS at to at least Upper Intermediate level
Completed equivalent of Australian Year 11 qualification from any of the English speaking countries such as Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
Completion of any Australian AQF Certificate III or higher qualification
Satisfactorily completion of at least one semester of study in Australia in a tertiary course (satisfactorily for this purpose would mean that the applicant has completed 50% or more of the semester load)
Completed a Placement Test devised and administered by Rhodes College or a nominated accredited agency

Minimum Academic Qualification Requirement (one of the following):

Completion of senior high school to the Australian Year 11 or equivalent
Mature age students can also enter based on an interview with Rhodes College staff

What are the tuition and resource fees for the Certificate IV in Business?

The tuition fee for the Certificate IV in Business (BSB40120) is $7,500. In addition, a Resource Material Fee of $499 applies for all prescribed resource materials.

What intake dates are available for the Certificate IV in Business?

Intake dates are available in February, March, May, June, July, August, October, November and December.

What are the assessment methods used in this course?

The College will use the following assessment methods during this course which includes and may not be limited to Questions, Assignments, Projects, Case Studies, Activities, Third Party Reports/Logbooks, Portfolio, Simulations, Work Placement, Role Plays, Observations, Tests and Written Assessments.

What qualification can I progress to after completing the Certificate IV in Business?

After achieving this qualification, individuals could progress to BSB50120 – Diploma of Business.

How many hours of study per week are required for international students?

For International students, 20 hours of classroom based training and 20 hours per week of self-study is required.
