Traces the most important theme of salvation through the Old Testament and New Testament, while exploring other important themes. Helps students begin to form a solid biblical theology. (Text – Vaughan Roberts, God's Big Picture)
Interpret biblical texts
Practical skills in how to use and interpret the Bible, including where the Bible came from, context and setting, and how to apply it to today's cultures. Use Christian spiritual practices to support own personal development
Reflection on personal Christian formation which considers and practices the spiritual disciplines of a faithful disciple, with a focus on emotional wellbeing and identity formation in Christ. (Text – Adele A Calhoun, Spiritual Disciplines Handbook)
Lead a process of Christian Discipleship
Applies the teachings of Jesus to life and ministry through a study of the Gospel of Mark. Students consider what is involved in discipling another disciple and begin to put that in practice. (Texts – Mark Dever, Discipling; Ajith Fernando, Discipling in a Multicultural World)
Discuss a topic from a Christian perspective
Through selected readings from the book of Acts, helps students identify and develop skills for learning about and working with people from other cultures, considering the idea of Cultural Intelligence.

Develop and apply knowledge of key Christian beliefs
Introduces the student to the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith and to systematic theology. Topics include God, the Trinity, the person of Jesus, the work of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Church and the Spiritual world.
Explain Christian beliefs to a non-Christian audience

Plan and lead ministry activities

The course is available at multiple locations: Wantirna (VIC) in person, hybrid, full-time, part-time and evening; Launceston (TAS) in person, full-time, live on campus (see worldview.edu.au); Albany & Perth (WA) in person and hybrid, full-time (see albanybaptist.com.au/traininghub); and anywhere via an online self-paced option through the Wantirna campus.
There are no formal entry requirements for domestic students. A pre-training interview will take place as part of the application process. Overseas students must demonstrate English language proficiency at IELTS General 6 overall or equivalent, with some exemptions applying based on country of birth and prior study.
Graduates are prepared for roles as disciples, small group leaders, youth group leaders, evangelists, elders, deacons, and chaplains, particularly in discipling and small group ministry. The course also enables employment in church, para-church and mission contexts, joining a church planting team, or continuing training at MST or Eastern with credit into courses such as the MST Bachelor of Ministry or the Eastern Diploma of Arts.
