About This Course

10996NAT Certificate IV in Christian Ministry is designed to help students understand who they are in Christ and who He is in them, building a firm biblical foundation for life and ministry. Delivered by Victory Life International Bible Training Centre (VLIBTC) at its Osborne Park campus in Perth, Western Australia, the course combines sound biblical teaching, practical training and one-on-one mentoring with pastors and leaders. All students complete 12 core units covering the character of God, personal character development, motivational gifts, the Holy Spirit, the life of Christ, worship and prayer, evangelism, identity in Christ, spiritual growth, teamwork, grace and faith, and financial principles, then choose a specialisation stream — Ministry, Youth, or Chaplaincy (Influencer and Worship streams are on hold until 2027) — each adding further units and hands-on practical placement. Full-time study runs for 12 months (720 contact hours plus around 280 hours of self-paced study); part-time, night school and online options are also available for domestic students, while international students must study full-time on campus. Assessment is competency-based with two re-assessment opportunities. Graduates gain a solid foundation in biblical ministry and, depending on their chosen stream, practical experience in pastoral care, youth leadership or general ministry service, with a pathway into the 10997NAT Diploma of Christian Leadership and Ministry.

General Requirements

Domestic (Australian/NZ) Students:

Demonstrate a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and live a consistent Christian lifestyle
Minimum age 16 or completed Year 10 (or equivalent)
Competent in both spoken and written English (assessed via a short language, literacy and numeracy interview)
Attend a local church and be able to submit a pastoral reference/recommendation

International Students:

Full-time, on-campus attendance only
From Level 1-2 countries (Australia, UK, USA, Canada, NZ, South Africa, Republic of Ireland): evidence of at least 5 years of study in English in one of these countries, with proficiency equivalent to Year 10 English (grade C or higher)
From Level 3-5 countries: IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
