Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Students of all standards—beginner to advanced.
Minimum age 15 years of age.
Students under 17 can apply for an exemption to leave school.
No maximum age as long as you are fit enough to keep up with the course.
International students under 18 require parental permission.
Auditions for Certificate IV courses are by appointment. Once we receive your application an audition time will be arranged.

Career Opportunities

Graduates may find employment opportunities in dance teaching, choreography, and dance teaching. Students are invited to join Dance Factory's dance and theatrical agency and teacher register. Graduates have gone on to become: Performers (Dancers, Singers & Actors), Choreographers, Directors, Teachers, Dance Studio Owners. Many of Australia's leading choreographers and teachers are graduates of the Dance Factory's full time courses, and many graduates have gained teaching employment at most major dance schools in Victoria as well as nationally and internationally. Alternatively many have opened their own dance schools.

Who is the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management designed for?

When can I start the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management?

Students can commence at any time, with next courses commencing on 13th July 2026, 5th October 2026, or 27th January 2027.

Is an audition required to enrol in this course?

Yes, auditions for Certificate IV courses are by appointment. Once Dance Factory receives your application, an audition time will be arranged.

What financial support is available to students enrolled in this course?

All of Dance Factory's accredited courses offer students a range of State and Federal Government financial support and benefits, including Austudy/Abstudy for Australian students, Youth Allowance for Australian students under 24, student travel concession, relocation allowance, and CRICOS accreditation for international students. Credit transfer to other institutions is also available.

Can I study this course part time, and how many classes per week does that involve?

Yes, the Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management is available part time over 2 years. Part time courses are 8-12 classes per week depending on the course, and students can choose from day, evening and Saturday timetable options to fit around work, school or university.
