Common Questions
The course fee for international students is $14,200 AUD. Additionally, there may be extra costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials ranging from $300 to $1,000 AUD per course.
The course is offered at the Randwick campus. In 2026, intake dates are in February and July, and in 2027, there is a February intake. All intakes carry a course fee of $14,200 AUD.
You will gain practical experience in cleaning sterilisation equipment, setting up for oral healthcare procedures, assisting with dental practice administration, and processing reusable medical devices. You will also learn to assist with dental radiography, anaesthesia, and sedation, and apply infection control procedures.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
After completing the Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, you can continue your studies through vocational study pathways, TAFE NSW degree pathways progressing from certificates to diplomas and degrees, TAFE NSW–university partnership pathways with guaranteed entry and credit transfer to eligible students, or other university pathways where your TAFE NSW qualifications may be used to gain entry.
