In the Certificate IV in Design, you'll build your skills in using a range of industry-respected design tools including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Express.
By the end of this Certificate IV, you'll have the skills and knowledge you need to land a job as a Design Assistant in a field such as digital design, interior design, furniture design, fashion design or marketing design. You may also work as a Graphic Design Assistant, Web Design Assistant, Design Coordinator, or Freelance Designer.
The Certificate IV in Design is a good introduction to the world of design, completed within 1 year, building foundational skills in areas such as using colours, typography, illustration, videos and Adobe Creative Cloud. The Diploma of Graphic Design builds more specialised skills in graphic design, takes 18 months to complete, and is a good choice if you already have some design knowledge or experience, or if you're interested in becoming a graphic designer.
Yes, combining the Certificate IV in Design with another qualification is an excellent way to boost your skills and make yourself more attractive to employers. You can apply to enrol in two or more qualifications at ACBI, studying one after the other, such as the Diploma of Graphic Design, Certificate IV in Social Media and Digital Marketing, or Diploma of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Domestic students must have completed Australian Year 10 (or equivalent) or a Certificate III qualification, be at least 18 years of age, and have technological literacy (ability to use and access a computer with word processing applications). Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
