To enrol, you must be 18 years of age or older, meet the English requirement of IELTS 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5 (or equivalent), and have completed CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), or CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability plus the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set. You must also have basic digital literacy and be able to participate in a simulated workplace environment including manual handling tasks.
The program is delivered in a blended mode combining classroom-based learning, simulated industry workplace activities, and supervised online study. Learners are also expected to complete approximately 10 hours per week of unsupervised study. Assessment methods include written questions or reports, practical activities or projects, case study analysis, observation during practical sessions, and supervised work placement where applicable.
The qualification requires the completion of 10 units: 7 core units (HLTWHS003, CHCMHS001, CHCDIS017, CHCDIS019, CHCLEG003, CHCCCS044, CHCDIS018) and 3 elective units (CHCCCS041 Recognise Healthy Body Systems, CHCDIV001 Work with Diverse People, and CHCPAL003 Deliver Care Services Using a Palliative Approach). Please note that electives are subject to change to meet client and industry requirements.
Graduates of the Certificate IV in Disability Support can seek employment in roles such as Community Care Manager, Coordinator of Volunteer Work, Team Leader, Care Team Leader, Family Services Coordinator, Support Facilitator (Community Services), and Community Housing Resources Worker.
Yes. Lead College recognises qualifications issued by other RTOs and will accept and mutually recognise qualifications and Statements of Attainment awarded by any other registered training organisation unless precluded by licensing requirements. Credit Transfer is available for units where equivalence can be established, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for skills and knowledge gained through work, life experience, and unrecognised training. RPL eligibility is discussed during the entry process and interview stage.
