Common Questions
To be eligible, students must be at least 18 years of age, have completed Year 12 or equivalent, demonstrate English language proficiency at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, and hold either a CHC33021 Certificate in Individual Support (Disability) or CHC33015 Certificate in Individual Support (Disability).
The course has a total duration of 52 weeks, which includes 40 weeks of study, 12 weeks of scheduled breaks, and 140 hours of work placement, delivered full-time at 20 hours per week over 4 terms.
Students are required to complete 140 hours of work placement. To go into placement in hospital or aged care facilities, students must provide a full vaccination record as per NSW Health guidelines, a Police Check, and any additional evidence that work placement providers may require.
After completing the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability, students can progress to the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services.
Assessments will be conducted in a variety of formats which can include written questions and answers, projects, simulations, demonstrations, and third-party logbook.
