Yes, students must have a current CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support or CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support to enrol in this course.
You need to complete 120 hours (15 days) in a care service facility. SGSCC also offers a simulated learning environment, and before commencing work placement you will be required to obtain a current national criminal record check and a Working with Children Check — SGSCC will assist you with this application process.
No, this is a competency-based course. You will be required to competently complete assessment tasks for all 10 units of learning, which are made up of case study, question and answer, project, role play, and practical skill demonstration in a nursing lab.
This qualification is subsidised by the NSW Government. You can register to check your Smart & Skilled eligibility and student fee contribution.
When you have completed and been deemed competent, you can progress with SGSCC to the CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services or CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management.
